The last Secondary Prize Day before the move to our new school was held on Tuesday 18th October. Once again, the 2nd Broughshane Presbyterian Church hosted the event. We are very grateful to the minister and elders of the church for the use of their hall over the past eight years.
As usual, there was great excitement as pupils, parents and guests arrived and again, as usual, the hall was filled to capacity.
Dr Coulter, Chairman of the Board of governors welcomed everyone and Mr McFeeters gave the latest update on the progress of the new build, showing a spectacular aerial photograph of the building which is on course to be handed over in just 8 months.
Two former pupils, Shannon Macanally and Travis Mitchell spoke about their experiences of being at Castle Tower to loud applause.
The main business however, was the distribution of certificates and awards. This years’ Guest of Honour was Sharon O’Connor, Chair of the Education Authority of Northern Ireland. Here is a full list of all the award winners.
